granted, grouping everyday objects in such a way that they become something special, seeing how they fit together to become a thing of great beauty.”

— Mark Vessey

‘Simon’
AKA Simon Dunmore, the legendary DJ and founder of house music powerhouses Defected Records and Glitterbox. Through just 88 records, Vessey captures the essence of Dunmore’s musical roots, spanning R&B, soul, funk, disco, iconic house, and 80s electronica.

“Vessey’s work has always fascinated me, for two reasons, one being he feeds my sense of ‘order’ and meticulous ADHD persona, the other is that we both have a die hard obsession with collecting objects, especially magazines. When I saw his photograph of all the issues of LOVE Magazine, my career before the gallery, it sparked instance nostalgia for me.”
